Three weeks ago, Mark and I packed up the car and left Atlanta dark and early to head for Chicago! Driving seemed like a good idea at first…

But 13 hours is a LONG time to be in a car. On the plus side, we drove the back roads, which let us see a side of America we’ve never seen before.

Finally, we were there!

I was not prepared for the cold. It was 50-55 degrees, every day. I even had to purchase a sweater and hat along the Magnificent Mile.

Despite the chilly weather, Chicago was awesome!

Our favorite part was walking around looking for great food and coffee!

Other activities included seeing a Second City Comedy show, which was hilarious! We were both crying!

And running! Since I founded Atlanta Running Tours, it’s only natural that I ran with City Running Tours while in town.

I did not have the best experience with City Running Tours when I was in Washington D.C., but Chicago’s tour was spot on! I highly recommend taking a tour if you’re ever in Chicago!
I also decided to participate in a local 5k, the Run to Remember, while I was there.

It started and ended at Soldier Field.

I think I ran around a 22:25, but I had a great time!

Mark and I were both so sad to leave the city, but we’ll be back. The people are just so friendly, and it’s such a gorgeous place.
Question: Do you run when you travel? Have you ever done a race while traveling?

I want to go to Chicago so badly!! It looks like y’all had a great time. I’ve never run while traveling before but that could (and likely will) change.
