Almost three years ago, Mark and I visited Chicago for the first time ever and loved it.

We went there for a wedding, which was about an hour west of the city. My dad actually grew up in the same town, and I got to visit the house he grew up in!

I also pretended to ice skate on Prince Pond, the same pond my dad ice skated on as a kid.

Mad ice skating skillz.
We only spend a day and a half actually in the city, but we still did a lot.

And the most random photo from our Chicago 2009 trip:

WTF?
So…we’re going back to Chicago this weekend for another wedding!
So far, I’m signed up for the Run to Remember 5k on Saturday. Oh, and Mark and I can’t wait to go back to Yolk, a delicious breakfast/brunch spot!
Have you ever been to Chi-town? Do you have any recommendations for things to do while we’re there? Coffee shops, restaurants, activities?

My exprience in Chicago has never been quite what it should. Been there for work (limited fun) and for the Chicago marathon. When you are tired of running at mile 3 of a marathon, you aren’t really going to have a great day enjoying the city.
I’ve never been, but Chicago is on my list of places to go!! I hope you have fun!
