Question: Do you ever get in a restaurant rut?
Mark and I often go to the same places over and over. It’s like we have blinders on. Last night, we decided to go to a special place we haven’t been to in nearly a year, UrbanPl8.
I know I’ve mentioned this place before, but it’s an extra special restaurant, because our wedding reception was there!
In addition to the food being awesome, I especially love the decor and feel of the space, like shabby-chic. Rustic and gorgeous.
The company was pretty good, too.
I hardly ever drink, but the Paleo Margarita (there are a ton of Paleo-diet options on the menu) sounded fun!
It was so refreshing and delicious! I nursed that bad boy for a good hour to savor the flavor. I did the exact opposite with my main course, Red Curry Pan-Seared Tofu.
The flavor was amazing, and I loved the coconut-based sauce…but damn! It was spicy (for me). I have really low heat tolerance, and I was sweating. I kept eating it, since it tasted so good, but I felt like a had to scarf it down to minimize the discomfort.
The margarita helped ease my pain, so did the Paleo (and vegan!) chocolate layer cake.
Topped with whipped coconut milk and a side of fresh blueberries. Hell to the yeah.
It wasn’t overly sweet at all, so I didn’t feel that unhealthy.
Definitely a great restaurant and highly recommend it. Lee also just grabbed her birthday brunch at UrbanPl8 recently. Fun fact: we got married on the same day!
Can you handle spice or are you like me (the milder, the better)?
