Well, it’s official!
I am no longer employed with the consulting firm!
Yesterday was my last day at the company, and I had my work cut out for me when it came to cleaning my office…
But between cleaning out my office and wrapping up projects, somehow the work just kept coming in.
When it came time to break for lunch, I headed over to my usual lunchtime spot to blog and chat with my barista friends.
I know this may sound ridiculous, but it was kind of sad. I’ve been going to this Starbucks several times a week to either blog or work on the companies, and I’ve come to know all of the baristas and some other customers really well. I had to say my goodbyes to them yesterday, and look what they did!
Awesome.
After blogging and setting up a few meetings for next week, I ran by Whole Foods to pick up lunch…which I mostly devoured before I broke out the camera. Oooops.
The next few hours were spend writing proposals and taking my belongings to my car. Soon, my office was bare bones.
And my key card was turned in.
Before I left, I said my goodbyes to a few co-workers and my boss. I was extremely disappointed in my boss when he essentially gave me a lecture that I’m “throwing my career away” and “leaving just as things are getting busy.” I reminded him that I was pursuing my dreams and was really excited to start this new chapter. Plus, I gave two weeks notice. Not two days, or even one week, and did my very best to tie up all my loose ends. His reaction confirmed the fact that I was leaving.
Goodbye office!
I’ve got other things I want to do!
Too bad I didn’t go out the way Arnetta the Moodsetta did!
