Sore and Hungry

Good morning afternoon!

Needless to say, my legs are sore and I have hunger that can’t be satisfied.

After I completed my 12 mile marathon training run yesterday morning, I ate, showered, napped, then put Jackie-dog in the car for an adventure!  I haven’t taken her on a solid hike in a few months, so yesterday afternoon seemed like the perfect day for it. :)

Before leaving, I prepared an AB&J sandwich.

ryethe jammaple abab&jAll together now!The bread was just ok.  I wouldn’t buy it again.  I ended up giving Jackie the last few bites.  She didn’t seem to mind the bread. ;)

We headed about 45 minutes northwest of Atlanta to Red Top Mountain State Park.  I saw on the park’s website that there’s a 5.5 mile loop partially along the shores of Lake Allatoona, and since my little pup is a fish in the water, it seemed perfect.

The trails were beautiful, but it sure was H-O-T!

While she swam, I enjoyed my peanut butter chocolate chip LaraBar.

LarabarI think this is my favorite LaraBar flavor of all time.  It’s just like dessert!

After all the swimming, we had another 3.5 or 4 miles left to hike.  It was a pretty hilly trail, but nothing too intense.  I was definitely soaked by the time we finished.  I’m not sure, but I think Jackie had a great time.

Despite having an awesome hike with Jackie-dog, the combination of running 12 miles in the A.M. and hiking 5.5 miles in the P.M. made for some sore legs and a hungry belly!

When we got home, I blended up a smoothie monster in a bowl [green monster + SIAB].

Spinach, mixed frozen berries, wheat germ, xanthan gum, açai powder, maca powder, banana, and almond milk.

When dinner rolled around an hour or two later I was ravenous a bit hungry. ;)   I ended up meeting my friends Alejandra, Sanju, and Lori at FIGO, a pasta place.

figoI ordered the whole wheat Pappardelle with Primavera sauce.

figoIt was absolutely delish!  The pasta was doughy and fresh, and the sauce contained a heaping pile of veggies including tomatoes, broccoli, green peas, spinach, garlic, and basil.  It was light and flavorful.  Sooooo good.

Once I returned home, it was time to hit the hay.  I am proud to say that I slept a full 10 hours last night!!!!  Whooop whooop!  I am going to need the extra rest, because today through Thursday I have rehearsal every day, and then Friday through Sunday are the actual shows.  That means if I want to run at all this week, it’s going to have to be at 6 A.M. :(   This is going to be a loooooong week, my friends.

After my luxurious night of rest, I woke up to a heaping bowl of V.O.O.s.  This batch contained the usual suspects: oats, chia seeds, brown rice protein powder, almond milk, mashed banana, almond butter, and topped with cacao nibs, unsweetened coconut flakes, and maple syrup.  Perfection!

VOODespite my hearty breakfast, I think my body is still politely requesting screaming for calories after yesterday’s nearly 18 miles!  So only 2 hours after my oats, I made a SIAB.  I devoured it before I even thought of taking a photo.  Ooops. :)

Now I’m going to brush up on my lines before rehearsal this afternoon and contemplate my next meal.  Soooo hungry! I think a trip to Whole Foods is in my future this evening.

      You NEED to find them. They are insanely delish! ;) I’ve seen them at natural food stores, Whole Foods, and even a Publix!
